We are proud to introduce you one of our 14 “early birds” – Ms Emily Lim. Emily is attached to MSIG Bancassurance & Marketing Department. She will be joining the 10km race and her vision in life is “To be successful in career and family”.

Q : Is this your first marathon - have you joined any before?
This is not my first marathon. I participated in the Milo Run 11 years ago. However, during the Milo Run I joined the 8km category whereas this time I will be participating in the 10km category.
Q : What drive you to join the SCB KL Marathon 2009?
The purpose of me joining this marathon is for my own health and also to maintain my stamina. In my opinion, if a person participates in the marathon, then only they will train in order to achieve the objective. It's like a motivation that push them to do something.
Q : What is your target?
I am determined to complete the 10km race and if possible I would like to beat the time specified for the race. However, I will not push myself too hard – if I am exhausted and know that I won’t be able to complete the full race, I will stop. I certainly don’t want to be featured on tomorrow headline as “The girl who fainted during SCB KL Marathon”. (laughing)
Q : Would you train for the Marathon?
Yes of course.
Q : Do you plan to train alone or in a group? If group, who will you train with?
As I don’t drive to work, it might be difficult for me to train with my fellow colleagues in a group on workdays. I might have difficulty looking for transport home after the training. Therefore, I think I will only be training on weekends with my family.
Q : How much time would you allocate for your training and how would you organize your time between training, work and personal life?
Usually, I would go jogging with my family on Sunday. Hmmm…come to think about it, I've started training long before I knew about SCB KL Marathon 09. (laughing)
Since I will only train on weekends, balancing training, work and personal life will not be a problem. I don’t think I will be having any training on weekdays – absolutely no. (giggles)
Q : Where do you plan to have your training ?
I usually jog at Bukit Jalil (near TPM). So, there will be my training ground.
Q : Do you undergo any special diet? Do you take supplements / vitamins to enhance your stamina or etc?
Yes, I take supplements everyday – with or without Marathon. But I wouldn't go through any special diet. It wouldn't be necessary right? (giggles)
Q : Do you have anything to say to those who have not signed up?
Don’t miss out on this golden opportunity; take up the challenges and who knows you might be in the top 10.
Q : Do you have anything to say to your competitors?
I'll see you in top 10.
