Chia Cheui Foong

Next, on our list is Ms Chia Cheui Foong. She is joining the Half Marathon and attached to Personal Lines Underwriting. Her vision in life is “To finish this race within the time limit”.

Q : Have you joined any kind of marathon before?

Hmph, I’m not sure Orange Run is considered as a marathon but I did join the race before for 10 – 13 km run. (laughing)

Q : Have you started your taining?

Yes I have started my training since I registered. I run 3 – 4 times a week. Although I’m going for a holiday 1 and a half weeks before the race but I will still train during my holiday. I’m planning to bring my running gear as well. (look spirited)

Q : How do you find your training so far?

My training is going well as planned. But I suffered lots of injuries during my training.

Q : Did you attend any clinics offered by Standard Chartered?

Yes I attended the 2nd clinic which is the “Injuries” clinic and I find it very good as I was able to get a lot of information from them. I will share some tips I got from the clinic with you and those that didn’t get to attend. The doctor from Gleneagles advise to take care of your diet 3 – 4 days before the race day and also make sure drink more water when you’re running on the day. And don’t forget to put Vaseline (grease) for the race day.

Q : What is your target / objective for this marathon?

My target is to finish the race within 3 hours.

Q : Are you excited about the race?

Yes of course. This is the first time I’m joining the Half Marathon (21 km) and I have to be there early on that day. (laughing)

Q : Do you have anything to say to your competitors?

Don’t neglect your training and work hard.
