Shirly Yip

Next, we will present to you, Ms Shirly Yip. She is the Manager for KL Agency. Her vision in life is “Hoping that her children would grow up with good life ahead of them”. Ms Yip is joining the 10km race.

Q : Have you joined any kind of marathon before?

Yes I have. Last year I joined the Citibank race, the ING race, the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) race and also the race that was organized by Pacesetter. For all the race, I either participate in the 5 km or 10 km.

Q : Have you started your taining?

I have actually started a bit but due to my knee injury, I have to stop my training and rest my knee.

Q : Since you had a knee injury, would you still be participating for the marathon?

Yes I will. Even if I can’t run, I will still participate but I will walk instead of running.
To me, if can’t finish doesn’t matter, it’s the spirit that counts. (laughing)

Q : Did you attend any clinics offered by Standard Chartered?

Yes, I attended the 2nd clinic which was very good as I was able to get a lot of information, tips and advise from them.

Q : What is your target / objective for this marathon?

Definitely aiming not to be the last…if possible, be the first 100 to finish – that would be good enough. (giggling)
